Gingered up July ’23
Whoops, I seem to have slipped again on my gingered up, updates!
I skipped April because we were in Scotland, then I made a plan to get this out in May, well that didn’t happen. We’re now at the end of June. Sod it, lets aim for the start of July and see what happens!
I hope you enjoy another rather marvellous mini collection of creative comfort food for the soul.
No.1 / Iconic Scottish chocolate wrapper turned into a pillow!
Tunnock’s Tea Cake biscuit wrapper cushion

Hands up who doesn’t like a Tunnock’s Tea cake… … no, I didn’t think so.
Not only can you eat them, but apparently you can also put your bum on one! Using the iconic Scottish biscuit wrapper from Tunnock’s, the designer, Gillian Kyle, has produced a fabulous pillow that will look rather fetching in any room. I want one.
No.2 / Stunning contemporary garden rooms
Newton Hall – Bold, Romantic & Fantastical

We were lucky enough to stay a night at one of Newton Estate’s dynamic Garden Rooms, up in Northumberland. These garden rooms wouldn’t look out of place on the remake film set of Dune. If only I could fit one in my own garden.
No.3 / The black sheep!
A moorish milk stout

The Black Sheep Brewery has brought out a rather drinkeable milk stout with notes of chocolate, vanilla and coffee. You can get them online and I’ve also found them in pubs and in Sainsbury’s. Yummy, cheers.
No. 4 / Lets get down to the essentials!
Essentialism podcast with Greg McKeown

Essentialism, my new favourite weekly podcast covering all things self improvement.
No. 5 / Take a perch
The Perch cafe, Garelochhead

The Perch. An absolute gem of a cafe/restaurant, in a small village, at the top of the Clyde, Scotland.
