Five things that got me gingered up this January 2021

So here we find ourselves yet again, early January 2021 and back in lockdown 3.0! Blimey, just two weeks into the new year and we’ve had Brexit (whatever that was), a near civil war in the US and infections and deaths in the UK, due to Covid-19 are going through the roof! Thinking positively, nothing lasts forever, not even global pandemics. We have a vaccine being rolled out, we’re heading into Spring (although it doesn’t look or feel like that at the moment, just look out the window), it will get lighter by about two minutes every day and it’ll get warmer… …at some point.

5 things that got me gingered up this December 2020

So the second wave has come, we’ve had a fire break, a circuit breaker, a lockdown, tiers 1-3 (or 0-4 in Scotland) and now it looks like the vaccine has been given the green light just in time for this side of Christmas. Ding, and indeed dong, merrily on high, for some long awaited good news and cheer to finish off a rather bleak year! Oh, I forgot to mention Brexit, or should we just leave it there! Seasons greetings one and all. Be safe, be well, be healthy and stay creative. See you on the other side.

Bam, Boom, Bang!

No, it's not an early 1960s Batman and Robin TV series spin off. It's the dynamic trio of another rather splendid batch of home-brew I created in readiness for the 5th November and Bonfire night!

Keep your distance…

So as you may or may not know I enjoy making home brew beer. For me, it's a win-win kind of a thang! I get to make beer and drink it, I also get to be creative by making a beer label every time I make beer!

Spring has Sprung… again!

It's that time of year again when the days are getting longer, the temperature is getting warmer (just), the blossom is blossoming, the bulbs are a bulging and the sun is.... sort of shining!

Pressing matters!

I recently attended a one day Adana/Letterpress course, run by Mick Clayton at St Bride Foundation

Wrappers Delight

Wrappers Delight. It's a fabulous coffee table book and an incredible graphical visual reference bible to what we were snacking on back in the day. Just don't count the calories!

Quotes that got me thinking

"Forget the usual questions about whether your photograph is good, or sharp, or well-exposed. Ask instead if it is alive. If it is true. If it is honest. Ask if it is worthy of your vision. Ask if it connects. The world has enough photographs that are perfectly sharp, perfectly exposed, perfectly boring". David duChemin

The Wonky Woo Wa and Spring Has Sprung beer labels

Last year my wife got me possibly one of the greatest birthday presents ever! A home brew beer making kit! It didn’t take me long to set everything up and get cracking with my first brew.
